Mind Map Conventions of Crime Films
Location
Gangster/crime films are usually set in large, crowded cities, to provide a view of the secret world of the criminal: dark nightclubs or streets with neon signs, fast cars, piles of cash, sleazy bars, contraband, seedy living quarters or rooming houses. Smokey bars/clubs.
Plot
Crime stories in this genre often highlight the life of a crime figure. Or they glorify the rise and fall of a particular criminal. Storylines are often made from real life stories. Often revolves around money and respect.
Clothing
Expensive and posh clothing e.g. suits, leather. Looking good is a main priority.

Characters
Criminals often involved with drugs, money, theft, murder etc. Characters are often in a class system, The Don being at the top. There values and morals are important and they live by them. They are usually materialistic, street-smart, immoral, meglo-maniacal, and self-destructive
